Terms of Use
Last updated 14 May 2026 · Effective 1 June 2026
About these terms
Please read these terms carefully — they set out the agreement between you and Commit Ltd for using the app and everything around it. By using Commit you accept the terms below, so it is worth taking a moment with them.
The copy on this page is placeholder text for layout review and is not the final legal wording.
Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Commit mobile applications, websites and related services (together, the "Service"), operated by Commit Ltd ("Commit", "we", "us"). By creating an account, downloading the app or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation, and "you" refers to both you and that organisation. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
Who can use Commit
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If the law where you live sets a higher age of digital consent, you must meet that age. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide to us is accurate.
Your account
You are responsible for the activity that happens on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date. We may refuse, suspend or reclaim a username that is inactive, impersonates another person, or infringes a trademark.
Goals, progress photos and your content
Commit lets you set goals and document your progress with photos, captions and other content (your "Content"). You retain ownership of your Content. You are solely responsible for the Content you post and for making sure you have the rights to share it.
By posting Content you grant Commit a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and adapt that Content for the limited purpose of operating, improving and promoting the Service. This licence ends when you delete the Content, except where it has been shared with others who have not deleted it, or where we must retain it to comply with law.
Acceptable use
To keep Commit a place where people can show up honestly, you agree not to:
- Post Content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive or infringes the rights of others.
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
- Upload viruses or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
- Scrape, crawl or harvest data from the Service except as expressly permitted.
- Use the Service to send spam or to artificially inflate streaks, cheers or other metrics.
We may remove Content or limit access that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or harms other users.
Subscriptions, billing and refunds
Some features are offered as paid subscriptions. Prices are shown in the app before you purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel beforehand through the relevant app store.
Payments made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are handled by those stores under their own terms, including their refund policies. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, logos and the "Commit" name, is owned by Commit Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding except as needed to use the Service as intended.
Third-party services
The Service may link to or integrate with services we do not control, such as app stores, sign-in providers and analytics tools. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those third parties, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you would expose us or others to risk.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive — including ownership, disclaimers and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that it will meet your specific goals. Commit is a tool for documenting progress, not professional medical, fitness or financial advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Commit will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred pounds.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will let you know through the app or by email before they take effect. By continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Subject to any rights you have as a consumer to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.
